Knowing the size of your growing area is extremely important for calculating the exact quantity of nutrients you need based on your soil’s deficiencies. To get the exact square footage, SoilKit has a satellite-guided sizing tool that allows you to search the address of the soil being tested and drop pin points, mapping out the area you are testing. This tool can be accessed during the SoilKit registration process by clicking “Calculate Using Google Maps”.
The “Satellite” option allows you to zoom in for more accuracy.
Outline the area you are wanting to test by starting in a corner and clicking the screen. This drops a pin. You then go to the next corner and click again. This will set another pin and your outline begins. Continue this process until you have made it back to the first pin you placed.
Click use this area and the system will calculate your square footage!
Finish registration by choosing “Register Your Kit”.
Don't forget to add a nickname if you are testing multiple sites. Nicknames is not a required field, but it lets you name specific tests. This way, when you get your results back, you will know what testing area the recommendations are for.
