There are a couple of differences between SoilKit, the Auburn University Soil Test Kit Powered by SoilKit, and the University of Florida Soil Test Kit powered by SoilKit, including where the sample is analyzed and what tests are run.
Auburn Powered by SoilKit: Samples are sent to the Auburn University soil lab, which tests for pH, Buffer pH, Phosphorus, Potassium, Magnesium, Calcium, and CEC. This test has recommendations reflecting Auburn research and science that are included with the results. It is a great kit enhanced for Alabama soils specifically.
University of Florida powered by SoilKit: These kits are analyzed using using proven University of Florida Science with results based on University of Florida Turfgrass Science. This is the best option for testing Florida soils since it's specifically tailored to that state.
SoilKit: Samples are sent to a third party lab where they test for pH, Buffer pH, Phosphorus, Potassium, Magnesium, Calcium, Manganese, Iron, Copper, Boron, CEC, and organic matter. You can select from lawn, garden, or tree & shrub SoilKit options. The kit and sample bags are identical among these options, but the amendment recommendations provided by SoilKit based on your test results will be appropriately catered to your goals for your soil.
