Can I send in a wet soil sample?

Has it rained recently, or is the soil particularly wet? Are you able to send in wet soil?

If your soil is muddy due to recent rain or irrigation, please allow it to dry out before sending. However, if it’s only slightly moist and can be securely contained in the brown bag without compromising it during transport, feel free to send it to the lab. Once it arrives, the soil will be placed in an overnight oven to eliminate any remaining moisture before processing begins.

SoilKit’s sample bags were specially designed to withstand moisture. That being said, avoid sending in completely saturated or frozen samples.
