What is Buffer pH?

The buffer pH in an indication of the soil’s ability to resist a pH change. The higher (more basic/alkaline) the buffer pH reading, the smaller amount of lime is required to raise an acidic soil pH. If the pH is too high, sulphur can be used to add acidity to the soil and lower the pH.
