Boiling water will kill fungal diseases in the soil. You can take the soil you want to use and then pour boiling water over it. If you use enough boiling water, the soil will now be sterile, and you could use it for potting. Please remember that the boiling water will also remove many beneficial microbes and nutrients that can benefit your plants.
