Agriculture is the art or science of cultivating the ground, including the harvesting of crops and the rearing and management of livestock. Agriculture can also be called farming.
Agronomy is the application of science and technology from the fields of biology, chemistry, economics, ecology, soil science, water science, pest management and genetics to the improvement and management of the major food crops of the world. In other words, it is the science of utilizing plants, animals and soils for food, fuel, feed, and fiber and more to do this effectively and sustainably. Agronomy encompasses work in the areas of plant genetics, plant physiology, meteorology, animal sciences and soil science.
