What is a seed blend?

A seed blend is a mixture of one or more types of grass seed. Seed blends typically adapt to different lawns better; for example, some blends are formulated to include grasses that grow better in shady and sunny areas. Blended seeding also helps prevent some lawn diseases: grasses differ in their susceptibility to various lawn fungi, so a seed blend can balance grass types that are resistant to different diseases.
