Why did we spend 18 months doing a redesign of SoilKit365? When we listened to our customers, they wanted more and we worked to give them just that. SoilKit365 was originally designed to provide the soil’s nutrition deficiency information, plus a prescription for what to do at the moment. The newly designed product will address the nutritional deficiencies, but also the nutrient needs for the soil and the crop during the growing season. The redesign will include MORE instruction, more details, and more of understanding the whole growing calendar. That’s right–your lawn has different nutrient needs throughout the whole growing season, which is why homeowners and gardeners need a year-round care plan.
This improved plan of action was partly inspired by a Catapult Class that I attended by Capital One. The Capital One Team challenged our way of thinking and helped our team bring to life new ways to address our users needs. We surveyed, talked, listened, and put our findings to action to answer SoilKit users’ constant question: “What do I do next?”
The lawn, garden and trees never quit working, so we are developing alongside our users feedback and we are glad to have you along with us in this year-round soil health journey.
Did you know that Bermuda needs 2.98 lbs of Nitrogen during the growing season? And that amount has to be split by 4 because it prefers to feed throughout the year, not all at once. So how do you take that information and apply it to products you can find? Furthermore, how can you create an annual plan customized to you?
I tell users all the time…you go to the doctor to draw blood and, most of the time, if there is a deficiency found, the doctor will prescribe a daily plan. Well, that is what we do here at AgriTech. We draw a soil sample from your yard and then we customize a healthy grow plan based on what you are trying to grow.
What will be different in SoilKit365? You will see an all-new look. And if you are testing soil for a lawn, we will display results that reflect a seasonal breakdown. What is next? Stay tuned…we will be releasing other crops with their own specific seasonal breakdown details.
