Fusarium patch, also called Microdochium patch, is a turf disease that produces roughly circular bleached patches on lawns up to 12 in (30 cm) in diameter, although the patches may connect and overlap. It is caused by the fungus Microdochium nivale.
This same fungus also causes Pink Snow Mold, which manifests as patches of dead grass (often pink or white) that are revealed when the snow cover melts in the spring.
