The two-lined spittlebug (Prosapia bicinata) is a lawn pest found across the eastern United States but most common in the South. It gets its name from the foamy, bubbly spittle masses created by nymphs as they feed. Spittlebug infestations are most prevalent in centipedegrass, although it can affect many other species as well. Symptoms include wilting and discoloration of grass that may apear similar to drought stress.
